Panic! At the House in Royal Oak

March 18, 2008

So I’m sitting here eating dinner and it’s really starting to hit me that in less than a week, we’ll be playing in front of friends, family and (gulp) co-workers. It’s like taking that test you haven’t studied for.

Now if I had it my way, we would be playing the following songs: “Margaritaville,” “Sweet Caroline,” “Friends in Low Places,” “Brown-Eyed Girl” and “American Pie.” I will say for certain that two of those five songs just might get played on Monday.

And that whole “Doug singing songs” thing … don’t even get me started.

I’m probably getting all riled up over nothing. We’re going to be great … right?

  1. This show is going to be better than 3rd row at Bob Seger!

  2. I have figured out why Doug is in panic mode. That is because Chris Coole (or Cool or Kool) is just an urban legend. He does not actually exist although he was once featured in an e.e. cummings poem. Therefore, Doug will be sitting on stage saying things like “sing it Chris” but there will be no one in the other chair. This ought to be very interesting…
